Front-End Engineer

Build front-end experiences that scale with the system, connect complex workflows, and make operational work feel clear and intuitive.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We’re looking for a Front-End Engineer (React) with strong hands-on coding experience to help us build front-end-heavy applications and Airtable Custom Interfaces.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys shipping polished UI, working with real business workflows, and building app-like experiences on top of structured data.

You’ll work closely with our PMs and Solutions Consultants to translate requirements into clean, scalable, production-ready interfaces.

Modular low-code development and connected workflows on the InAir platform

ABOUT THE COMPANY:

InAir is a forward-thinking, fully remote consulting firm with a stronghold in Texas. We are proud experts in Airtable consulting services, partnering with mid-sized to large enterprises. Our mission is to harness the power of low-code platforms, enabling businesses to optimize their workflows, foster collaboration, and achieve ambitious outcomes through Airtable. Our remote work setting is built on trust, respect, and open communication, allowing team members to shine and grow.

We are a tight-knit team that values collective efforts and shared victories. Every team member's contribution is recognized and appreciated. We nurture talent and provide clear paths for career growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build Airtable Custom Interfaces: Create app-like interfaces and workflows on top of Airtable data.

  • Front-End Heavy Development: Build end-to-end UI features using React + TypeScript.

  • Bridge Design & Engineering: Translate UI/UX into functional, polished components with attention to detail.

  • Work with SDKs & APIs: Integrate a specific 3rd-party SDK (we’ll share details during the process) and connect front-end to data sources.

  • Build reusable components: Help define UI patterns, components, and standards to speed up delivery.

  • Ship iteratively: Deliver in small, high-quality increments, incorporating feedback quickly

  • English-first communication: Participate actively in technical meetings and async communication in English.

    Tech Stack/Tools

    • React + TypeScript
    • Tailwind CSS
    • shadcn/ui (preferred) or similar UI frameworks (Radix UI, Material UI, Chakra, etc.)
    • Airtable (Custom Interfaces / Airtable API)
    • Git / GitHub

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Requirements:

  • Strong React experience: Proven experience building functional, responsive front-end applications.
  • TypeScript proficiency: Comfortable with typed codebases and scalable front-end patterns.
  • UI engineering mindset: You care about UX polish (loading states, edge cases, performance).
  • API/SDK integration skills: Comfortable working with external SDKs and reading documentation independently.
  • Architecture & data thinking: Able to understand data models and how data flows from back-end/data layer into the UI.
  • End-to-end delivery: You’ve shipped real features or applications, not just isolated components.
  • Clear communication: Strong written communication and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

NICE-TO-HAVE:

  • Experience building Airtable Custom Interfaces or internal tools on top of Airtable

  • Familiarity with relational/linked data models in Airtable (linked records, rollups, lookups)
  • Experience building design systems or reusable UI component libraries
  • Basic testing experience (Playwright/Cypress)
  • Experience with internal tools platforms (Retool, Superblocks, etc.)

WHAT SUCCESS LOOK LIKE:

  • Interfaces feel clean, intuitive, and product-like
  • Data structure and UI remain consistent and maintainable
  • You ship quickly without sacrificing quality
  • You proactively flag risks (UX, architecture, integration constraints)
